Weissberg Chair

Weissberg Chair Eskinder Negash, Senior Vice President for Global Engagement for the United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants ... Weissberg Chair Eskinder Negash, Senior Vice President for Global Engagement for the United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) converses with students in class. Get involved with the Weissberg Chair in Human Rights and Social Justice. The Weissberg Chair is a scholar of public service and human rights and addresses a new issue and/or area of the world each spring semester, delivers a public lecture, visits classes for a week. The chair is supported by the Weissberg Program in Human Rights and Social Justice.

Ousley Scholar

The Ousley Scholar in Residence brings a junior scholar, activist, organizer, or intellectual to deliver a lecture about social justice in the fall semester. The scholar and related events are supported by the Weissberg Program and the Office of Student Success, Equity, and Community.

Career centers

Impact Beloit and Community Connections courses are also foundational to the spirit of public service on campus. Community Fellows are selected every year to work with local organizations and nonprofits.

On- or off-campus research

Student research is based on individual interest and can be presented at annual symposia on campus or off. The Common Grant can provide funds for current students pursuing off-campus internships or research, particularly the Ivan Stone Internship Fund and Weissberg Program funding.
